Give Me Liberty

Give Me Liberty

Our founding fathers knew the importance of our freedoms and the value of liberty from real-life experience. They suffered much before coming to a new world and building a new life. I never realized that I took my freedom for granted until I saw our freedoms being threatened and challenged over the last couple of years and continuing to be each and every day.

God has convicted me regarding the freedoms that were fought so hard to obtain and maintain. Particularly:

  • my lack of understanding of not only my freedoms and liberties in this country but also my God-given rights
  • my lack of stewardship of the freedoms He has afforded me in this great nation (beyond voting)

Our founding fathers fought for this right to be free. It is up to us to preserve it if we want to remain free…within our own country, governments, cities, etc. I had to ask myself if I could proclaim Patrick Henry’s famous words myself. Could you?

Give me liberty or give me death.

Patrick Henry, March 23, 1775
